New Matsuura machine

February 21, 2015 by admin in VRS News

In December 2014 we placed an order for another Matsuura machine to replace our faithful old Makino 1210 horizontal machining centre. Our new Matsuura H.Plus-500 Horizontal machining centre has a machining envelope of 850mm diameter x 900mm high.

We are sorry to see the Makino go after 30 years’ service. It was bought in the mid 1980’s and continues to perform well but it is time to update this machine which was the state of the art machine in its day. We are looking forward to the delivery of our new Matsuura which will arrive early March 2015.

In December we also upgraded our Cad software from Mastercam and Edgecam to Solidworks 2015 3D. All of our engineers that received the training on Solidworks and Solidcam have spoken very highly about it.

By continually improving our plant and software, we are keeping up to date with the latest machines and technology enabling us to maintain our high standard of meeting customer demands, expand our customer base and the ability to enter new markets.
