40 years Anniversary

In 1968 a milling machine was installed in a garage in Portsmouth, metal was cut, and VRS was born.

Founder Valmiki Ravani Sinanan - Rudy, had a vision to be the best. As such he could serve his customers well and build a future for his family. It was the involvement of the family that helped secure success, with unswerving hands on support from his wife Sylvia, later to be joined by son Miki and daughter Serena. Today Serena runs VRS with a strong and dedicated management team, and a highly skilled workforce. All watched over, with hands still firmly on the reigns, by Sylvia, now the M.D. Forty years on, that same company, VRS Precision Engineering Ltd stands proud at the forefront in the manufacture of high precision engineered components, predominantly Aerospace, but also for the Filtration, Medical, Marine and Construction industries. We still retain our very first customer and our largest output goes to another of some 25 years standing.

Along the way changes were inevitable. Innovation tested us and was confronted with positive results, none moreso than the choice of site. Larger workshops on Fareham quay left the humble garage beginnings behind but were rapidly outgrown. The current purpose built freehold premises were built in 1979, more than doubling in size very soon after. This is a prime site at Wallington with excellent access to the M27.

When we talk of our years in this business it is with some sad irony that we reflect on the loss of Rudy who died in 1995 - forty years after arriving on English soil. However his work ethic remains, and the best still applies to staff, machine tools and product.

We are very proud of our achievements throughout the life of VRS and the respect that is afforded us by those who use our services, and we welcome new enquiries at any time. Throughout 2008, from time to time we will be celebrating our anniversary, and will contact existing and potential customers when appropriate, but for now we sincerely thank our customers past and present for having the confidence to entrust their product to us, and we look forward to many more years of success and the challenges that lie ahead.
